With foam board, two breadboards, one arduino, and many hours of measuring and cutting, we created an interface and ten blocks. After completing the code as well, we realized during testing that our magnets were too weak. It was too late to purchase stronger ones so we resorted to doubling up the magnets hence cutting down the number of blocks we were using in half. Instead of 5 words pairs we were narrowed down to 3.
We also learned how fragile reed switches are when two broke in the process of repositioning them on the breadboard. Good thing we had to cut it down to 3 word pairs! We added music looping in our code and changed the background to one that was actually looping correctly. After many struggles with our materials, WordDuo finally became a functioning toy. |
